Akış Ka

Acclaimed performer and musician Dani Dinger curated the latest edition of that revelatory evening of performance and live music by trailblazing trans artists from the UK and Turkey. Taking place in Pride month, this year’s Pit Party line-up featured explosive performances from artists including anarchist poet Kell w Farshéa, DJ Ifeoluwa, and subversive drag artist i-Gemini. Additionally, Erkan Affan invited outstanding artists from Turkey, including Akış Ka, Mustafa Kınalı (aka Mustkika), and Kübra Uzun. Transpose was founded by artistic director CN Lester in 2011 and has spent over a decade celebrating, promoting, and platforming the wide-ranging talents of the UK trans community. This edition was curated and directed by performer, activist, and musician Dani Dinger and explored the building blocks of a shared culture, and trans identities, and offered a direct challenge to the status quo.

For Transpose BURN Pit Party Akış Ka created a new performance, "INTERNALS". For this new work, Akış Ka crafted a narrative that explored the challenges they faced in embracing their true self and the journey they embarked upon to find their authentic identity. It captured the essence of their desires and aspirations, as they navigated the path towards self-realization. While they still had a long way to go in uncovering their innermost self and understanding their place in the world alongside their transgender community, Akış Ka was filled with excitement to share their story with all.
